01 Introduction

Welcome to NotifyTone ("we", "our", or "the app"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the information collected, used, and processed through our mobile application.

Core Commitment: NotifyTone is designed with an offline-first, zero data collection architecture. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal information.

02 Notification Access & On-Device Processing

To provide custom notification tones for individual apps (e.g. WhatsApp, Slack, Telegram, Instagram), NotifyTone requests Android's Notification Listener Service (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE) permission.

        🔒 100% Local Real-Time Processing
        When a notification arrives, NotifyTone reads only the package name in real-time to trigger the matching audio tone assigned by you. 
        Notification text, message content, sender info, and chat messages are NEVER saved, logged, cached, or transmitted over the internet.
      

03 Permissions Used by the App

NotifyTone requires the following minimum system permissions to function:

Notification Listener Permission: Required to detect incoming notifications from other apps and play the corresponding assigned tone.
Post Notifications (Android 13+): Required to show essential system status notifications and audio test playback.
Read Audio / Storage Access: Required only when you optionally choose to import your own custom MP3, WAV, or OGG ringtone file from device storage.
Internet Access & Network State: Used exclusively by the Google AdMob SDK to serve banner and interstitial advertisements.

04 Third-Party Services & Advertising

NotifyTone uses Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) to display banner and interstitial ads to keep the application free for everyone.

Google AdMob may collect and process information such as:

Anonymous Advertising ID (Google Play Services advertising identifier)
Device information, operating system version, and general location (IP level)
Ad interaction and performance metrics

05 Data Storage & Security

All user preferences (active/muted apps, assigned tone IDs, fallback tone settings, custom tone file paths) are stored locally on your device using encrypted SharedPreferences.

If you uninstall NotifyTone or clear the app data from Android Settings, all stored preferences are permanently deleted from your device.

06 Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

NotifyTone does not knowingly collect or solicit any personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so that we can take appropriate measures.

07 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be posted directly on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
