Is NotifyTone safe? Does it read my personal messages?

Yes, 100% safe! NotifyTone only inspects the sending app's package name to trigger the corresponding sound. It does NOT read, parse, or store the contents of your messages, and has no internet server backend.

Will this drain my phone's battery?

Not at all! Unlike background loopers that drain battery, NotifyTone uses Android's native NotificationListenerService which only wakes up for a split-second when an incoming alert is posted by the OS.

Can I use my own MP3 or audio files?

Yes! In addition to the 22 built-in audio tones, you can select "Custom Audio File" in the Tone Picker to select any .mp3, .wav, or .m4a file from your phone storage.

What happens when my phone is on Silent or Vibrate?

NotifyTone checks Android's AudioManager ringer mode before playing any tone. When your device is set to Silent or Vibrate, custom tones are automatically silenced.

Which Android versions are supported?

NotifyTone supports Android 8.0 (Oreo / API 26) all the way up to Android 14 and Android 15 with full support for Android 13+ POST_NOTIFICATIONS permissions.
